A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

When Verity has her soul stolen by a fairy, she must embark on a three-part quest.

To enter the land of fairies and reclaim her soul she must follow Three Rules:

  • Be Small
  • Be Sparkly
  • Be Sarcastic

Full of magic, horrendous puns, and a surprising amount of dragon snot, this comedy adventure game is the opening chapter of a larger project.

Completed in two weeks for AdventureX Jam 2024

Accessibility ♿︎

We have made efforts to make this game playable by as many people as possible, and to achieve this, ensured the following:

  • Easy 2-button interface (left and right mouse buttons)
  • Subtitles and voice acting included for all dialogues (even for a doorbell-speaking character!)
  • No pixel hunting and no overlapping hotspots;
  • Not fully working blind-friendly "Accessible mode" (keyboard and text to speech). Best played with NVDA enabled and with sighted assistance for audiodescriptions. Read the Accessibility Guide to find a list of all limitations and an audiodescription guide. Bugs are also listed at "Known Bugs" (heading 2) in this page.

Controls (Accessibility Mode) 🎮

Important: Press K (once in the game) to enable the text-to-speech accessible mode. You can only play with your keyboard when in this mode. Also, please note that currently the game is not fully accessible to play autonomously and we recommend playing it with sighted assistance.

  • K: Enable/Disable accessible keyboard + TTS mode;
  • Arrows: Move between elements;
  • Enter (or left-click): select or interact;
  • Backspace (or right-click): Look at; or Cancel "Use With";
  • Tab: Open/Close Inventory;
  • Spacebar: Open/Close menu toolbar (not working with TTS - use keybinds to save/load/exit);

Useful keybinds:

  • F5 – Quick Save
  • F7 – Quick Load
  • F9 – Restart
  • Alt+F4 – Exit
  • Esc– Skip cutscenes

Known Bugs and Fixes:

The accessible mode is not fully working. Read our Accessibility Guide for help. Known problems and tips to reduce them:

  • Ensure NVDA is enabled to avoid substantial lag (you might still have a bit of lag nevertheless; proceed at your own caution);
  • Make sure to set your NVDA voice to English manually;
  • The toolbar only works sometimes. Use keybinds like F5 (quick save), F7 (quick load) and Alt+F4 (close window) instead.
  • The audiodescriptions weren't implemented in time for launch. If you play with a friend, though, they can read them from our Accessibility Guide.
  • You may have to Press K when entering a new scene - a bug is sometimes disabling it when we change from a room to another.
  • If you get stuck in the Lair, left-click with the mouse anywhere or press Esc to parse a message on-screen that says "To-Do".

Hey, thanks. Nice game!

I enjoyed the way new options unfold as the story progresses. I liked the characters and the story. I struggled a bit to find the right sarcastic tone in the circle, but got there in the end! Curious to see what's on the Other Side!

So after playing this game twice, once with the help of Patriica, i have some feedback to give. This game certainly has its charm, it is a nice entry with a god point and click adventure. THe music and sound effects are very nice and charming, the dialogue is amazing and really funny, like the well saying Be well gave me a chuckle. So the writing is excellent and i like the dialogue a lot. Unfortunately, i am blind and need the accessibility mode in order to play. There are a few problems with this, for example, the options menu is not accessible at all, like if i klick on the options from main menu, there is no way for me to go back and I am completely stuck. Only way for me to exit is to close the game entirely. Next, the toolbar mode is not accesible at all, if I hit spacebar key, my tts doesn't read anything at all and I first thought there was a massive lag. Speaking of lag, i got a bit of lag while scrolling through the options like in dailogue or picking items. Normally i could likev with that, but somethimes the lag made me pick a option i ddidn't intend to. The lag may be a few seconds long, but that can affect things while playing. Also, there is no audio descriptions making it hard for me to know what is happening on screen. So i am afraid the game isn't fully accessible at all. Oh, before i forgot, when you talk to the well and pick the options for sarcasm, and get responses, the tts doesn't read the responses at all.

Thanks so for your feedback and for playtesting for us! Your experience and perspectives are really valuable, sincerely. And I’m really happy you got to play it all on your own and enjoy it, even if, unfortunately, while needing some sighted assistance.

We are aware of the problems you mentioned and I’m not sure how much we’ll be able to fix (it’s just a jam game after all), but rest assured I will let you know if they are, in any hypothetical future update. Thanks once again :)

Lovely entry! Classic point & click fun, great writing. Looking forward to play the rest of the story! The only issues I had: the game feels a little too linear, choices becoming available only in strict order (at least it felt that way.) I also didn't pass the final sarcasm check until I watched the playthrough video someone here thankfully made. And I was so sure my answers were the most appropriate. Might just be me, but maybe make the correct choices a little more obvious? Loved that nod to Monkey Island , though :)

ah this was fantastic, great humour, awesome voice acting, great graphics, delightful music, I got some items duplicated but apart from that all worked great, grats on the awesome game :D I wish that "to be continued" was true...or is it sarcastic?! LOL <3

Great entry! I absolutely love the idea and the humor! I couldn’t stop laughing, especially when Verity learned the art of sarcasm. :D

The music and voice acting are fantastic, and everything fits together perfectly!

Nice game. I enjoyed the no hold barred third wall breaking and item use. Great writing and voiceover.
